A recent poll in Britain found that public support for sanctions against Russia is falling as fuel and prices rise.
The proportion of people willing to accept higher fuel prices as a result of western sanctions against Russia fell 14 percentage points to 36% from 50% in March, according to a survey conducted for the Telegraph by consultancy Redfield & Wilton Strategies.
Global energy and fuel prices have soared since the start of the year and remain high because of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and uncertainty over Russian supplies.
The survey also found that 54% of people believe their own financial situation has worsened in the past year, up 12 percentage points from 42% two months ago. Sixty-two percent think things will get worse in the year ahead. Less than a third of respondents said they had received a pay rise to keep up with inflation, with two-thirds of those saying it was not enough to keep up with rising living costs.
The figures suggest that public concern about the conflict with Ukraine is now likely to be overtaken by financial worries.
Separately, the UK's consumer price index rose 7 percent this month from a year earlier, the highest since March 1992, according to figures released recently by the Office for National Statistics. In addition, a separate report released a few days ago by the Centre for Economics and Business Research said that real household disposable income in the UK will fall by 3% in 2022, equivalent to a loss of £2,320 per household, which would lead to the biggest drop in living standards since the 1950s. That is mainly because wages aren't keeping up with rising energy and fuel costs.
The prices of other commodities like the spherical silica powder are also expected to be influenced.
What is Silica Powder?
Quartz powder or silica powder is made of pure quartz (natural quartz or fused quartz) by crushing, picking, cleaning, acid treatment, high temperature melting, crushing, fine grinding, and classification, in addition to iron and other processes processed to meet the requirements of the use of powder.
Silica is a kind of silicon oxide, chemical formula is SiO2, in nature is the most common quartz and various organisms. Silica is the main component of sand. Silica is one of the most complex and abundant families of materials, in the form of a variety of mineral compounds and synthetic products. Notable examples include fused quartz, vapor silica, silica, opal, and aerogel.
It is used in structural materials, microelectronics (as electrical insulators), and components in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
What is Spherical Silica Powder?
Spherical quartz powder has the advantages of a smooth surface, large specific surface area, high hardness, and stable chemical properties.
First of all, the spherical powder has good fluidity, and the resin is stirred into a film evenly. The resin addition amount is small, and the filling amount of quartz powder is high. The mass fraction can reach up to 90.5%. The higher the filling amount of quartz powder, the lower the thermal conductivity, the smaller the thermal expansion coefficient of the plastic sealing material, and the closer to the thermal expansion coefficient of monocrystal silicon, the better the performance of the electronic components produced.
Secondly, the stress of spherical powder is only 60% of that of angular powder, and the stress concentration of the plastic seal made of spherical quartz powder is the lowest and the strength is the highest. Finally, the surface of spherical powder is smooth, the friction coefficient is small, the wear of the mold is small, and the service life of the mold can be extended more than 1 times.
What is Spherical Silica Powder Used For?
Mainly used as electronic packaging materials. The three main materials of electronic packaging are substrate material, plastic sealing material and lead frame and solder. Because of its low cost, simple process, and suitable for mass production, plastic packaging has been developed rapidly since its birth, accounting for an increasing share in packaging, the current plastic packaging in the world accounted for more than 95% of the integrated circuit market. Among the plastic packaging materials, epoxy plastic packaging (EMC) is the mainstream of integrated circuit packaging, more than 95% of microelectronic components use epoxy plastic sealing.
In microelectronic packaging, the main requirements of integrated circuit packaging high moisture resistance, low stress, low alpha ray, dip resistance and reflow welding, good sealing performance process. For this reason, epoxy resin must be doped with inorganic fillers in the resin matrix, the inorganic fillers used at present are almost quartz powder. With the rapid development of microelectronics industry, large-scale, very large-scale integrated circuit is higher and higher to the requirement of packaging materials, quartz powder, as an important support of EMC materials not only its size conform to encapsulate specific scope, but also the demands of its, high purity, low content of radioactive elements, especially for the particle shape using the spherical requirements are put forward.
Spherical silicon powder not only has good shape, but also has high chemical purity and low content of radioactive elements, which can meet the technical requirements of high-end integrated circuits. It can greatly reduce the thermal expansion coefficient of plastic sealing material, reduce its dielectric constant, reduce stress, greatly enhance the rigidity, wear resistance, weather resistance, impact resistance, compressive resistance, tensile resistance, moisture resistance, fire resistance, so that the products have good arc insulation resistance and uv radiation resistance.
In addition to being used in the field of electronic packaging, spherical quartz powder can also be widely used in the manufacture of electronic ink, optical fiber, high-grade cosmetics, high-grade precision ceramics, precision grinding of optical devices and electronic components, and used as filler of special paint coatings, etc.

The World Food Program (WFP) of the United Nations (UN) and the European Union (EU) said in a statement that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine poses risks to global food supplies, and called on the international community to increase support for vulnerable countries and jointly address food security challenges.
A few days ago, the Executive director of the World Food Program, the European Commission's commissioner in charge of crisis management, the French Foreign Minister of the ROTATING EU presidency, and other officials held a meeting in Rome, Italy, to discuss how to deal with the negative impact of the Conflict between Russia and Ukraine on global food security.
One of the officials told a news conference after the meeting that the world was facing a food supply challenge that would "last for many years" as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine pushed up global food prices and disrupted the spherical silica powder will continue.
